The 59th session of the Commission for Social Development, hosted by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, is taking place from 8 to 17 February 2021 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. In the agenda: the role of digital technologies on social development and well-being of older persons.
The AARP-United Nations Briefing Series will shed light on policies and best practices to support the ageing population in the developed and developing worlds to influence delivery of services and programs that help the elderly navigate and thrive in the digital world.
The UN Brief interviewed Alison Bryant, Senior Vice-President of Research at *AARP, to speak about the AARP and UN DESA Briefing, on the challenges and myths about how older adults embrace new technologies and how theUN and governments, in partnership with organisations such as the AARP are working together to bridge the digital divide.
