The NGO Committee on Ageing is urging ECOSOC-accredited NGOs to submit written statements for the upcoming Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) session from 10-21 March in 2025, in New York.
The focus of this session is the review and appraisal of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and the statement calls attention to the specific challenges faced by older women, particularly the need for policies that support their economic roles, provide access to lifelong learning and social protection, and address ageism and violence.
The Committee encourages NGOs to highlight the situation of older women in their respective countries or regions, and to promote policies and projects aimed at improving their lives.
