UNECE: Over 80% of Immigrants Leave Switzerland Within 17 Years of Arrival
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) issued a guidance on the use of longitudinal data to help policymakers understand the economic ramifications and consequences of international and domestic migration patterns.

From 2018 to 2020 a task force of experts from national statistics offices and international organizations developed the guidance.
The document provides an overview of available longitudinal data sources for migration statistics, recommendations to develop a longitudinal data set for migration statistics by integrating data from various sources, and how to disseminate findings regularly to inform policy in this dynamic environment. The guidance was reviewed and endorsed by the Conference of European Statisticians (CES), its network of experts, and more than 60 countries participating, in 2020.
