UN Joint Staff Pension Fund Goes Digital

The UNJSPF held a high-level hybrid session at the 2024 World Summit of the Information Society , WSIS+20 Forum, High-Level Event, on their adoption of blockchain and biometric technologies.

I interviewed Dino Cataldo Dell’Accio, Chief Information Officer at UNJSPF, to speak about their Digital Certificate of Entitlement (DCE) a blockchain and biometric solution providing proof of identity, transaction and location that, three years since its introduction, is now being used by over 40% of pension fund beneficiaries.

The UN Digital ID, a digital wallet is being launched in June 2024 for separating staff from the World Food Programme and the United Nations Development Programme.
