WHO issued an updated guidance on July 2nd ‘Considerations for implementing a risk-based approach to international travel in the context of COVID-19’
It also published policy considerations for national authorities, and updated the Q&A on travel advice for the general public (date of new update noted at bottom of web page).
WHO has updated its travel guidance to take into account new developments, including the spread of Variants of Concern and growing numbers of people who have had vaccination or previous infection.Although there is no zero risk, travel measures can play a role in reducing the spread of COVID-19.
Countries should continue to apply a risk-based approach when implementing measures related to international travel, while respecting the dignity, human rights and fundamental freedoms of travellers.
