ITU: Hackathon for Products and Services That Address Ageing Had Entries From All Over the Globe
Interview with Danielle Duplin, Co-Founder and Global Director of the AGENCY
The UN Brief interviewed Danielle Duplin, Co-Founder and Global Director of the AGENCY, a hub for elderpreneurs and a global innovation ecosystem that she launched in Boston, Massachusetts, in the US. We spoke about the hackathon that the UN Agency for ICT, the International Telecommunication Union, organized to address ageing, how an older demographic can benefit of community when launching a new venture, and what is different about launching a company when you are older.
This was the first hackathon addressing ageing at the World Summit on the Internet Society, an annual event run by ITU in Geneva, and given its popularity it will be taking place again, perhaps in a hybrid format so to allow participation from innovators from around the globe, next year.
The Agency run workshops and provides mentorship for those who want to launch a tech or digitally enabled company. They have partners and offices around the world.
