Oracle Taking On COVID-19 in Africa
Partnership with Tony Blair Institute to Deliver e-Vaccination Programs
The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) and Oracle are working with governments in Africa to use cloud technology to manage large-scale vaccination programs and provide digital immunity passes to allow citizens to travel freely during the pandemic.
The Oracle Health Management System serves to monitor patient symptoms, testing, and responses to treatments, allowing doctors and health professionals to manage large-scale vaccination programs.
Ghana, Rwanda, and Sierra Leone have already signed-up to the program to tackle Yellow Fever, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and routine immunizations for polio and measles, and are using the knowledge acquired with the deployment of the system to be ready for when COVID-19 vaccination programs start.
As soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is available the Oracle Health Management System will track immunizations and provide recipients with a Digital Quick Response (QR) code. These QR codes will help Africa reopen its borders and economies by provid…
