UN Sustainable Development Goals Are Within Reach if Cities Show Leadership
The UN Sustainable Development Goals are within reach if cities combine emerging technologies that can enhance surveying its waters for pollution, like the CityShark project currently underway in the City of Aarhus, in Denmark, that is using drones and satellite imagery to clean up its busy port.
Oracle Cloud supports the Danish CityShark project, which is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, on protecting life below water, SDG14.
CityShark, a collaboration between a government agency, the private sector, and the Port of Aarhus, relays on a network of drones to detect oil spills, collect plastics, shipping debris, and other urban waste that find its way to the ocean.
The drones on the water will collect waste. A flying drone will be able to detect oil spills and other debris through a special AI guided camera and send instructions to the drone that is under the water to pick it up. TAPAS
