WTO: Interview with Chile's Ambassador Sofía Boza
In just a little over three weeks the World Trade Organisation will hold its ministerial level conference in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
In the agenda, reform called by China, investing in the Sustainable Development Goals, and training diplomats in trade negotiation skills. The focus is on diplomats from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Also in the agenda, fisheries subsidies that are harmful to the environment, among other pending issues for the global rules of trade, not least in the e-commerce and AI realm, where it is still the Wild West.
We interviewed the Permanent Representative of Chile to the WTO to speak about Investment Facilitation for Development, how Chile is supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, and what is in store for the upcoming ministerial conference.
