NGOs in Geneva Request to Participate In-Person at the Human Rights Treaty Bodies’ Ongoing Review Session

Amnesty International, International Service for Human Rights, and a number of NGOs are requesting in-person access to the Human Rights Committee Treaty Bodies’ session. While most sanitary restrictions have been lifted in Switzerland, the UN Office in Geneva and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights have continued to deny access to some NGOs to attend in-person the Human Rights Committee and the Human Rights Council sessions. These are two different entities in the international human rights’ protection mechanisms available within the UN system, and both are in session in Geneva.
