WTO: How to Finance the Green Transformation

With 144 events over four days, trade experts, diplomats, academics, and policymakers had a ball discovering how to finance the green and digital transformations. WTO Director-General, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was interviewed on stage by CNN’s Richard Quest and The Economist to speak candidly about the challenges ahead.

She hinted that we are entering a global recession. The international media picked-up that immediately and headlines all over the Global South’s press were on her prediction. But we must think of recovery too, Dr. Ngozi said.

Eleven women economists from Sub-Saharan countries were invited to attend the Public Forum, by the former trade minister of Botswana, Bogolo Kenewendo, to showcase the talent that exists in the continent, and to tell as it is from the trenches.
